Rylan Clark has revealed he feels like an “imposter” after landing a presenting role on Strictly Come Dancing’s It Takes Two.

Clark, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2012, has since gone on to have a successful presenting career with stints on Big Brother and This Morning.

It was recently announced that Clark would be sharing the presenting responsibilities with current It Takes Two presenter Zoe Ball.

Ahead of the return of Strictly and it’s equally popular spin-off show, Clark admitted that he thought the It Takes Two team had contacted the wrong person.

“I was like ‘Are you sure they’ve rung the right person? They don’t think I’m someone else?’ I genuinely thought I’d turn up for work and they’d be like ‘Hi Rylan, are you OK? Are you lost?’,” he joked to The Sun.

Due to his past on the X Factor, Clark has come across a lot of criticism.

“There’s nothing better than getting announced you’re doing a job, people slating you, then you do a job and having people go ‘he’s actually all right’.

“At the beginning it felt like a fight, but nowadays I actually expect it — and I sort of thrive on it a bit,” he added.

Following the announcement that Clark would be joining It Takes Two, Ball revealed how excited she was to start working with him.

“I adore Rylan, he’s an absolute wonder, I love his daftness and naughtiness and he’s a brilliant live telly host. He’ll fit right into our It Takes Two family. Can’t wait for this new season to start, it’s going be a hoot!”
