Rylan Clark recalled how a chance encounter with British acting stalwart Dame Judi Dench didn't exactly go according to plan. Posting his first video on YouTube, titled 'Every item I stole (and kept) from X Factor 2012!' the former reality TV star looked through some treasures that has kept in storage for well over a decade.

It was when he stumbled across a programme from the premiere of Skyfall that he triggered the memory of bumping into Dame Judi Dench, who had played the character M in the famous spy film franchise.

The TV and radio host reminisced about the fateful moment, saying: "This is when we were invited to the James Bond premiere for Skyfall, and me and Lucy Spraggan got so drunk and were sat basically next to Judi Dench, Dame Judi Dench I should say. I was so drunk I was slurring a little bit and called her Judith. We just cackled the whole way home."

The 35-year-old claimed that despite his slight error, he still only has positive memories of the night. He added: "But, that was an amazing experience, we got to go to an actual Bond premiere."

As the video progresses Rylan pulls out a letter of congratulations from his close friend, the late Caroline Flack, that read: "Rylan, massive congratulations on making it through to the (X Factor) live shows. Here is a gift to welcome you to your new home. It is a lemon tree and yes we want to see your lemons by the end of the series."

Shocking the public after reaching the quarter-finals of the X-Factor in 2012, Rylan continued his new found fame when he won the 11th series of Celebrity Brother less than a year later. And, since then his career in the spotlight has showed little sign of slowing down having gone on to present This Morning and was even rewarded with his own show 'Rylan on Saturday' in 2019.

In May, Rylan and his close friend Rob Rinder released their own tv series on the BBC, 'Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour' where the pair have explored some of Italy's most iconic landmarks making their way around Venice, Florence and Rome.
