Rylan has revealed he booked a venue for his 10th wedding anniversary but he lost the deposit because he forgot to cancel after he got divorced.

The TV presenter married Dan Neal in 2015 but they broke up in 2021 after six years of marriage. Rylan has been open about how traumatic the split was for him. If they had stayed together, the pair would have celebrated a decade of marriage next year and Rylan has now told how he had plans in place for the milestone.

He spoke about the moment on ITV's This Morning during a discussion about marriage on Friday.

Rylan was hosting the daytime show alongside Josie Gibson and the pair were discussing weddings with their guests when he revealed he had already booked a special party before the split. He shared: "I actually did book, I didn’t realise, I booked a venue for my 10th wedding anniversary.

"I got an email a couple of months back saying, 'Do you want this venue?' I was like, 'No, no I don’t'."

"I forgot," admitted the TV star. "I lost my deposit."

The conversation about weddings turned to whether people who paid less for their nuptials ended up staying together longer. The TV presenter said if he was to get married again he would do it totally differently second time round.

Rylan said: "If I was to ever do it again I won’t tell anyone, just get someone round to the house, we'll be in our pants… 'Yep I do', ta da.' I felt like my wedding that I had was just so big," he said. Rylan has hopes of finding love again.

Rylan met Neal when he was a contestant on reality show Big Brother in 2013, when the star was a host of spin-off show Big Brother's Bit On The Side. They fell for each other and became an item, before walking down the aisle together in 2015.

However, it come as a surprise when their romance came to an end six years later and Rylan has been candid about the impact it had on him.

In 2022, the star told how he was left feeling as if he "couldn't carry on" after his marriage ended. He was quoted as saying in his book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future: "'What's the point?' I thought. I'd lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. So I tried to end it."

"Thank God I was unsuccessful," he added.
