Massive congratulations are in order for S Club 7’s Tina Barrett, with the singer expecting her first baby later this year.

The 39-year-old has revealed that she and her boyfriend of three years, Paul, are having a baby - and the conception could not have gone more smoothly.

Speaking in a new interview, Tina explained: “I have friends who’ve tried for years to get pregnant but we conceived within three months of trying. I know it sounds silly but it did take us by surprise - we thought it would take longer.”

The couple have found out whether they are having a boy and a girl but Tina went on to tease that she is keeping it a secret until their baby is born, adding to OK! magazine: “When the nurse told us what we were having, I burst into tears.

"I didn’t mind if we had a girl or a boy but I was so overcome with emotion that I couldn’t help myself.”

And she even has a pretty novel way of getting through labour, quipping: “A home birth isn’t for me. I’d rather the security of being surrounded by medical professionals.

"I’ll definitely be having drugs, too - none of this natural stuff for me. I like the idea of a labour-themed play list.

"We could play songs like S Club 7’s ‘Reach For the Stars’.”

Each to their own, eh?

Baby Barrett is due on June 19th, and we can’t wait to meet him or her!
