Sabrina Carpenter reveals her childhood crushes were women

Sabrina Carpenter has revealed that she can only remember female stars when thinking of her childhood crush.

In a new interview with W Magazine, the 25-year-old singer discussed who she idolised as a child - revealing many of them are now her contemporaries.

In a clip shared via the magazine on TikTok, the Espresso singer is shown saying, "Who did I have a crush on? It's funny, all of the posters on my wall were women. All my girl crushes were Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande."

She added, "I was, at that time, had (teen magazine) Tiger Beat, and I was really making use of the posters. I would put those all over my wall."

Carpenter has since supported some of her idols on tour - acting as a warm-up performer for Grande on her Dangerous Woman Tour in 2017 and for Swift on her current Eras Tour this year.

The singer - who is reportedly dating actor Barry Keoghan - also shared that she used to lust after Zac Efron.

She said, "I had a really dangerous Zac Efron phase, when he was in Hairspray.

"I was 12 years old, and I was on a beach for the Fourth of July. He would never remember this, but I saw him and said, 'I'm a big fan of your work!' He gave me a hug. And I remember thinking, Oh my god-he wasn't wearing a shirt and he gave me a hug! I was like, This is amazing. I'm never washing my body!"
