Sabrina Carpenter snaps back at fans who accused her of lip-syncing

Sabrina Carpenter has defiantly hit back at fans who have accused her of lip-syncing on stage.

The 25-year-old American singer has been releasing music since 2014 but it took her MTV VMA-winning 2024 smash Espresso to propel her into the global spotlight.

But now the singer has been left rattled by some fans who have closely analysed her on-stage performances and accused her of miming in concert.

Fans have been sharing clips of her current Short N' Sweet Tour on social media, but one uploaded a clip to TikTok and asked, "Does she ever sing live?"

A fellow fan speculated that she was not giving her all during performances, and responded to the footage to comment, "Hate to say it but 30% lip singing 30% backing track 40% singing."

The exchange drew the attention of Carpenter herself who hit back at the remarks, typing, "I sing live every show 100% would you like to speak to my audio engineers."

However, the Please, Please, Please singer's comment only provoked further pushback from her fan, who in turn wrote, "I would and tell them to lower the backtrack voice as it's way too high."

Carpenter kicked off her Short N' Sweet Tour in Columbus, Ohio, on 23 September - and far from being a short tour, she is due to be kept on the road until 26 March 2025 when the tour will conclude in Milan, Italy.
