During her space-inspired performance, Carpenter kicked things off with "Please Please Please" from a swing being held by a giant Moon Person above the audience, before she paid homage to Britney Spears by including the famous spoken interlude from her "Oops!… I Did It Again" music video. She then launched into her latest single "Taste."

Carpenter, who made out with an alien during the performance, finished off by belting out her track "Espresso" while surrounded by dancing astronauts. All three songs are taken off Carpenter's most recent album Short n' Sweet.

Carpenter — who was nominated for six awards at the event — began her acceptance speech, "I've literally never won one of these. This is really special."

"The first people I want to thank are the fans," Carpenter said as fans cheered, before she joked: "If you clap after everything I say they're gonna, they're gonna call me off the stage, so one second."

After thanking her managers, her family, and everyone involved with "Espresso," she referenced that much-discussed lyric by saying: "And thank you to that's that me espresso."
