'Sacrificial ritual' claim after mysterious 'organs' found in Leeds park as police called in
A former MP called in police after coming across mysterious 'organs' in a Leeds park.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns contacted police after spotting the bloody remains in Middleton Park. The former MP and Minister tweeted a photo of the remains and suggested it was "very likely to be a victim of sacrificial ritual, as such rituals are apparently on the increase in the UK". The former Morley and Outwood MP wrote: "While walking our dogs yesterday, Clifford and I came across these organs. I contacted the police. I met with them to show them the location, and the organs were sent for tests.

"Apparently, it belongs to an animal, and shockingly, it was said to be very likely to be a victim of an sacrificial ritual, as such rituals are apparently on the increase in the UK. It is a scary thought to think such people live among us."
Dame Andrea called on the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to look into the matter, adding: "These evil people who begin with animals, what are they capable of?"
More than one million people saw the post and it was shared more than 2,500 times, according to X. She told YorkshireLive that she had met police and had shown them where she had found the organs in Middleton Park.
"The police and I discussed and they said there had been a lot of instances of this. We discussed animal sacrifices and how this was on the increase and this likely to be that.
"Also from when I was an MP, I had been told of this, but never seen it myself, until this weekend. They sent off the organs to be assessed and they rang me Saturday evening to say it was animal organs."
Her post on X prompted a lively debate, with suggestions that the remains may have been from a deer and was the result of hunters/poachers, or from someone stealing and slaughtering livestock.
One man called it a 'load of nonsense', but Dame Andrea hit back saying: "I would not lie about getting the police involved. Get a life! This is serious stuff and needs to be investigated fully across the UK."
West Yorkshire Police has been approached for comment.
Middleton Park lies around four miles south of the city centre and covers 630 acres including 200 acres of ancient woodland.
