Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said an inquiry into the Metropolitan Police’s handling of the Sarah Everard case must “leave no stone uncovered”. Home Secretary Priti Patel on Tuesday announced an independent inquiry into how a serving Metropolitan Police officer, Wayne Couzens, could kidnap, rape, and murder the 33-year-old. Speaking at the Conservative Party conference, Ms Patel said the public needs answers to ensure “something like this can never happen again”.
