Sadness has emerged over the loss of a 'community corner and shop' in Bedworth town centre which has closed. It was posted on social media that Bedworth Community Corner in Congreve Walk has shut its doors.

Based in what was the old Karpet Kingdom branch, the community corner was run by Independent Advocacy, a registered charity, covering Coventry, Solihull, Warwickshire and other parts of the country.

It offered support for people as well as a charity shop and was a place where people could simply meet. It opened in 2022 and became a firm favourite with locals.

But, it was announced at the end of last week, that it was closing. This prompted a wave of sadness with people lining up to pay tribute to those who ran the venture saying they will be 'sadly missed' as well as those who said they 'loved' popping in for a bargain and a cuppa.
