How safe do you feel where you live in Hull? Have your say in our latest poll
Hull is home to many people and we will all have varying opinions on how safe we feel in and around the city centre and other areas.
As a city of more than 260,000 people, Hull does have its challenges with crime but Humberside Police has been named one of the top three forces in the country for its response time to burglary calls. But other crimes, such as theft and antisocial behaviour, can make people feel worried.
Hull Live is asking residents how safe they feel where they live - it is a simple yes or no question and only takes a minute. You will then be able to see the results.

Data from 2022 showed that the city centre was the most dangerous part of Hull which is unsurprising because it also has the highest density of people and is the area with the most clubs and bars. Although many of us enjoy a drink, alcohol is associated with increased violent crime.
Things that make people safer in their neighbourhoods include good street lighting and having a lot of people moving around during the day and the evening, according to livingstreets.org.uk. Meanwhile, litter, tagging graffiti, streets in poor repair, and a lack of windows overlooking the street make people feel less safe.
People also prefer to avoid tunnels and underpasses. Derelict buildings and closed-up shops also make people feel less comfortable due to the reduced footfall of people, or what is known as "passive surveillance" from eyes on the street.
So how safe do you feel in your neighbourhood in Hull? Have your say in the poll above.
