Emily Blunt has received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for her roles in Disney sequel Mary Poppins Returns and horror hit A Quiet Place.

The British actress was recognised in the leading actress category for her performance in the Disney sequel, which arrives in UK cinemas on December 21. She also received a nod in the supporting actress category for A Quiet Place, which was directed by her husband John Krasinski.

She will face competition from Lady Gaga, who has been hotly tipped for Oscar success for her role in A Star Is Born, as well as Olivia Colman, Glenn Close and Melissa McCarthy in the lead actress race. Blunt will also go head to head with another dual nominee, Emma Stone, for the best supporting actress trophy.

Stone picked up a nomination for her role in period drama The Favourite, and another for her performance in acclaimed Netflix series Maniac.

After picking up five Golden Globe nominations earlier this month, A Star Is Born had another successful run, landing four nominations: best leading actress (for Gaga), best leading actor (for star and director Bradley Cooper), best supporting actor (Sam Elliott) and outstanding performance by a cast.

The 25th annual SAG Awards will take place in Los Angeles on January 27, 2019, airing at 8pm EST. Though The Good Place star Kristen Bell took on hosting duties last year, it has not yet been revealed whether the show will have one dedicated presenter this year, as the ceremony traditionally features a series of guest presenters.
