Sahara Dust Storm Colors Skies Magnificent Orange in Southern Spain
The sky above parts of Spain turned a magnificent orange on Monday, March 14, as Storm Celia brought dust from the Sahara desert to the country.
According to the Laboratorio de Climatologia at the University of Alicante (LUCA), Storm Celia would move over the southeastern Iberian Peninsula and Balearic islands between Monday and Thursday.
This footage, captured by Twitter user @Judlei_, shows scenes in Aguilas, a port city in the southeastern province of Murcia, Spain, on Monday afternoon.
As the dust moved in on Monday, LUCA warned against staying outside for long periods of time and recommended the use of FFP2 masks for those with respiratory diseases. Credit: @Judlei_ via Storyful
