Sainsbury's has issued an important notice for Nectar card holders, indicating that significant changes are on the horizon. From September 1, customers will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points directly through eBay as the current linking between accounts comes to an end.

As it stands, for every £1 spent on the online marketplace, shoppers earn one point. While points can still be accumulated after the changes take effect, the method of doing so will be altered.

Going forward from September 1, to continue earning Nectar points via eBay, patrons must access the site through the Nectar platform. Moreover, they will receive a doubled benefit of two points per £1 spent.

Clarifying the upcoming adjustments, a representative for Nectar stated: "From the 1st of September 2024, the way you collect and spend Nectar points with eBay is changing. You will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points directly on the eBay website or app, and your Nectar and eBay accounts will be unlinked."

"However, you will be able to collect Nectar points on your eBay transactions when you shop via Nectar. Simply search for eBay on the Nectar app or website and click out to the eBay website or app to make your purchase", reports Birmingham Live.
