Saints will reportedly be sticking with Trevor Siemian at QB this week vs. Atlanta

Taysom Hill is back to being a full participant in New Orleans Saints practice, but he won't start at quarterback this week.

The Saints are expected to start Trevor Siemian, according to a report from NFL Network. That's a bit of a surprise considering Hill and Jameis Winston competed for the starting job through preseason. Winston won the job but suffered a torn ACL in last week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hill was out last week with a concussion, which gave Siemian a chance to play. Siemian was fine, completing 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. The Saints won. Siemian gets another shot, this time against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Siemian was a starter for the Denver Broncos in 2016 and 2017, right after Peyton Manning retired. The former seventh-round pick was eventually displaced as the starter and then started on the backup path of his career. Before Sunday, he hadn't thrown a touchdown in a game since 2017. From the start of the 2018 season to Sunday he'd played in only one game, with the New York Jets in 2019.

A week ago, many had probably forgotten about Siemian. Now he's the starter for a 5-2 Saints team, at least for Week 9.
