Sales Staff Forced To Belly Crawl Around Lake After Failing To Hit Targets

Sales staff in China were forced to crawl around a lake after they failed to reach their targets, it’s reported.

The 10 men and women were apparently made to lie on their bellies and skirt Ruyi Lake in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, earlier this month, according to reports.

Stunned tourists snapped images of the workers, who were being supervised by a colleague, and uploaded them online.

It sparked an avalanche of criticism towards the firm, which has not been identified.

Many commenters said that it was akin to “torture”, that their treatment went “overboard” and that it was a “human rights abuse.”

“How can the company expect to gain employee commitment with policies like this?” asked Linuannuan on Sina Weibo.

Others said that the employees should have stood up for themselves, but also noted they were probably afraid of being fired.

“This punishment is complete humiliation. But I don’t understand - why crawl just because someone told you to?” said user Xiaoyudiaoxiaomiao.

It’s not clear if police are going to investigate the incident.

But some workers said they’d been left injured from the ordeal, with one showing off ripped trousers from the treatment.
