Sam Fender announces St James' Park return for two Newcastle gigs
Sam Fender, who gave Newcastle an unforgettable weekend last summer, is set to return to St James' Park for two massive gigs in June 2025. Less than four years after his debut album Hypersonic Missiles soared straight to the top of the charts, the North Shields music icon filled Newcastle United's ground over two consecutive nights, attracting a combined total of 100,000 fans.
The Brit Award winner and his band put on two performances that will be remembered by all those fortunate enough to attend, as long as you didn't mind all the black and white flags and shirts. Attendees at the second gig were treated to a surprise cameo from AC/DC legend Brian Johnson.
Following the release of his new single of the same name last week, Sam is preparing to tour the UK and Europe on his People Watching tour next month. Tickets for his Newcastle date, on Friday, December 20, were only available through a ballot and were quickly snapped up by lucky fans who received the crucial access code.

After confirming that the entire tour had sold out, the Seventeen Going Under singer hinted that he might need 'a bigger boat' for next year. Now, following a major hint that an announcement was imminent, it has been revealed that he will perform at St James' Park on Thursday, June 12 and Saturday, June 14 next year.
Sam is set to break a long-standing record held by the Rolling Stones by performing two more gigs at St James' Park. The support act for the June 12 gig will be Cmat, while on June 14, US band The War on Drugs will also join the line-up, reports Chronicle Live.
Tickets for both dates will go on general sale from Friday, November 29, with a pre-sale option available from November 26 for fans who pre-order the new People Watching album from Sam's website. £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to selected cultural organisations such as Youth Music and Sunday For Sammy, supporting the arts in the North East.
The new album, People Watching, is due to be released in February, over three years after Sam's second LP, Seventeen Going Under, hit number 1. It's being described as Sam's 'next step forward', featuring 'colourful stories and observations of everyday characters living their everyday, but often extraordinary lives.
