Geordie favourite Sam Fender has added a surprise new date at St James' Park where he now will be playing three huge shows next summer.

The Brit Award-winner from North Shields has hardly been out of the spotlight of late following the announcement of his upcoming People Watching tour and new album followed by the news of two big shows for June 12 and 14 at the home of Newcastle United where he memorably sold out a double-date in 2023, playing to a whopping 100,000 fans in a sea of black and white flags.

With tickets set to be snapped up just as fast for his return to the ground, which will see him break the long-standing record set there by The Rolling Stones, excitement is set to be build even further as Fender has now added a third show on Sunday, June 15. It's an extra bonus for the army of fans who have been loyal to the singer-songwriter over the past four years since his debut album Hypersonic Missiles topped the charts.

His second, Seventeen Going Under, enjoyed similar success and now fans are eagerly awaiting the February release of People Watching, which Fender describes as being inspired by 'colourful stories and observations of everyday characters living their everyday but often extraordinary lives'. His People Watching tour, named after the album, will see him tour the UK and Europe next month while tickets for a home city date, on December 20, were made available to local fans through a ballot and were quickly snapped up by those who received the crucial access code.

Tickets for the St James' Park dates go on general sale from this Friday, November 29, from the likes of Ticketmaster and Seetickets, while a pre-sale option is available for the first two dates from today, November 26, to those who have already pre-ordered the People Watching album from Fender's website. A £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to organisations such as Youth Music and Sunday For Sammy which supports up-and-coming talents in the region.

The tickets for his third St James' Park gig on June 15 will also go on sale from 9.30am this Friday, November 29. However, pre-sale for the the third and final date will go live on Thursday, November 28.
