Sam Fender fans demand extra Newcastle date after tickets sell out in 30 minutes
Following a huge demand for tickets, Sam Fender's concert at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle in December sold out within 30 minutes, leading to calls from disappointed fans for an additional date on home ground.
As soon as Sam announced last week that he would be touring the UK and Europe with his new People Watching tour, it was also confirmed that tickets for the Newcastle show, on Friday, December 20, would only be available via a ballot, with hordes of fans rushing to register by the 5pm deadline on Monday.
After registering, they then faced an anxious wait to see if they'd been successful, with the crucial codes being sent out on Wednesday and those fortunate enough to receive one then prepared for a ticket scramble, as Newcastle went on sale at 10am on Thursday.
And, as expected, Sam Fender Newcastle tickets were highly sought after, with those people still in online queues at 10.30am, then being informed that the sale had 'ended' and the gig was sold out.
Within minutes of tickets for Newcastle going on sale, Sam added three new dates to the UK leg of the tour - December 7 in Manchester, December 12 in London and December 17 in Glasgow and now fans on home turf are hoping and, many expecting, that there will be at least one more date in Newcastle too.
One fan, unable to secure tickets on Thursday morning, vented their frustration on X, saying: "Praying for more dates and more codes for the Sam Fender ballot Newcastle deserves more".
Another quipped: "did he put about 3 tickets up for sale .. has anyone actually got a sam fender ticket for newcastle? " Tickets for Sam Fender's expanded UK and European People Watching tour, including the newly announced dates, are slated for general release at 10am on Friday, October 25, with outlets such as Ticketmaster and AXS expected to handle sales, reports Chronicle Live.
