Sam Quek owns up to sending forbidden messages to her boyfriend

Now this is exactly the kind of resourcefulness that would come in handy if you were ever stuck in the jungle.

I’m A Celebrity star Sam Quek has revealed that she managed to send secret forbidden messages to her boyfriend during her time on the show – without a single person noticing.

The Olympic hockey player eventually finished fourth on the ITV show, but on tonight’s I’m A Celebrity ‘Coming Out’ special, she reveals that she broke the camp riles and managed to communicate with Tom Mairs from the other side of the world.

The 28-year-old admitted that she had scrawled the numbers 143 on the front of her jungle hat – which is apparently their special code for “I love you.”

Yep, the Enigma Code it aint.

Best of all, when she returned to the swanky Versace hotel at the end of her time in the jungle, Tom had only gone and spelled out their special code in rose petals, the romantic devil! Awwwww…

Upon being reunited with Tom after more than three weeks in the camp, Sam said: “I love you, I miss you. I’m emotional I’m welling up now speaking to you. I can’t believe I came fourth.”

Sam ended up finishing behind winner Scarlett Moffatt, runner up Joel Dommett and third-placed Adam Thomas – but says she was more than happy with her final position.

“For me fourth is just as good as first,” she said. “I just went in being myself and one of the big things I wanted to be was a role model to younger girls and say, yeah, sport is cool.”
