Sam Smith has penned a song for X Factor winner Matt Terry
After snubbing the opportunity to sing with Matt Terry at the X Factor final last year, Sam Smith has penned a song for the winner of the ITV talent show to record.
Cor, this is after Ed Sheeran wrote Matt’s debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ – that little lad from Bromley isn’t doing too badly for himself, is he?
Matt made no secret of his appreciation for Sam during his time in the competition, giving a note-perfect rendition of the star’s James Bond theme ‘Writing On The Wall’ during Movie Week.
Now the star has admitted that he is super excited to be singing a song written by the British superstar.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Matt shared: “When I did his song it was an amazing moment. So to record a song written by him now is so exciting.”
While Matt was still taken part in the singing contest he revealed that Sam had been giving him advice behind the scenes, saying: “What are the chances? It’s just crazy.
“I had a bunch of questions to ask him about his career. It was pretty cool. He’s an artist I’ve listened to since he started and I think his career is just insane.
“He told me he’d heard me sing ‘I’ll Be There’, which he thought sounded good. He said to me to just keep doing what I’m doing.”
We can’t wait to hear this song that Sam has written for Matt.
