Sam Smith has displayed major body confidence in a shirtless mirror selfie, which he posted on Instagram on Wednesday.

The Unholy singer, 30, proudly shared the racy photo with followers, along with a series of other pictures taken during a visit to New York.

Smith, who goes by they/them pronouns, posed with one arm raised above their head. This revealed the singer’s growing tattoo collection as he wore nothing but a pair of grey jeans and a beaded necklace.

The artist rocked a bleached blonde hairdo and sported their best model pout in the snap, while standing in the middle of what appeared to be a red changing room.

Among the inkings on Smith was a bird on the forearm and an equality tattoo on the finger.

Smith’s selfie came after they recently posted a photo of them dressed in a revealing pink lace shirt and fishnet stockings.

The bold photos follow the singer’s long battle with body confidence, which they opened up about in 2019.

Smith revealed that they used to starve before photo shoots during their lowest moments struggling with body image.

They wrote on Instagram at the time: “In the past if I have ever done a photo shoot with so much as a T-shirt on, I have starved myself for weeks in advance and then picked and prodded at every picture and then normally taken the picture down.

“Yesterday I decided to fight the f**k back.”

Of their body positive motivations, Smith added: “Reclaim my body and stop trying to change this chest and these hips and these curves that my mum and dad made and love so unconditionally.

“Some may take this as narcissistic and showing off but if you knew how much courage it took to do this and the body trauma I have experienced as a kid you wouldn’t think those things.

“Thank you for helping me celebrate my body AS IT IS @ryanpfluger I have never felt safer than I did with you. I’ll always be at war with this bloody mirror but this shoot and this day was a step in the right f*****g direction.”
