Meghan Markle’s sister Samantha pleads with her to visit father and hints at CBB appearance saying 'money makes the world go round' in GMB interview

Samantha Markle has pleaded with the Duchess of Sussex to visit their father and hinted at an upcoming appearance on Celebrity Big Brother saying "money makes the world go round."

Meghan Markle's half-sister told host told Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway that her father Thomas “just wants to embrace” Meghan and “let her know he loves her” after the 74-year-old claimed he was being "frozen out" by the Royal family.

Garraway then grilled the 54-year-old over rumours that she would enter the CBB house amid claims she was “cashing in” on her estranged half-sister’s marriage to Prince Harry.

Despite remaining tight-lipped on the topic Ms Markle hinted at an appearance during the interview on Monday's show saying "money makes the world go round".

“Money makes the world go around so if you want to call that cashing in, that’s fine but I think no one in the media would refuse a paycheck for talking about the royals and as a family, we’re not subject to royal protocol,” she said.

Urging her half-sibling to make amends with her father amid rumours the pair have not spoken for two months, she said: “He is 74 years old and we all know that life is short, and so given the circumstances over the last several months since the wedding, I think he really just wants to embrace her and have some closure on the distance and misperception and let her know he loves her and I feel he deserves that in return.”

Mr Markle has had a strained relationship with his daughter since it was announced she would be marrying Prince Harry.

He was unable to attend her wedding in May due to heart problems after it was revealed he had arranged set-up paparazzi shots of himself.

In interviews with both Good Morning Britain and celebrity news site TMZ, he discussed the Duke of Sussex’s opinions on Brexit and spoke of his relationship with his daughter.

He said he is willing to make amends with his daughter and fly to the UK to meet with her.

Ms Markle said: “Meghan can perhaps believe rumours and stories that she’s heard and my father I think has also. I believe it’s created a rift that is unnecessary and I hope that they can come to terms on their own and she’ll be able to reach out to him. It only seems the right thing to do.

“I think a lot of the public are concerned. They say why are you utilising public channels, because private channels have been exhausted and to no avail and so when that happens, what can one do except reach out publicly.”

She also hit back at claims she was cashing in on her half-sister.

“People don’t know about me. I’ve worked in media most of my life and in broadcasting so because my sister is suddenly royal, isn’t grounds for me to suddenly stop doing that and when I made the comment about cashing in, let’s face it we all have to survive,” she said.

“I think no one in media would refuse a paycheck for talking about the royals and as a family, we’re not subject to royal protocol. If you want to call that cashing in, I think it’s a little bit ridiculous. Why would I stop living because we have a family issue going on.”

Just last week, Samantha Markle branded the royal family an "embarrassment" for "ignoring" her father and claims she will hold the Duchess of Sussex responsible if he dies.

She launched yet another scathing attack on her sibling after she and Prince Harry visited a London exhibition on Nelson Mandela and met with his relatives.
