Samsung is gearing up to launch its most important smartphone in years. The Samsung Galaxy S10, the tenth anniversary model of the long-running Galaxy range, promises a major upgrade in terms of power and features.

The Korean giant is due to reveal three phones including the Galaxy S10 and a larger Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus this month at events being held simultaneously in London and San Francisco.

Rumoured features so far include a triple-lens camera system, punch-hole display screen, 5G network capabilties and longer battery life. One model of the new phones could even see a price cut compared to previous years.

The latest leaks suggest Samsung is launching a bunch of new wearables to join its smartphone. These include an AirPod rival, a smart watch and a fitness band.

Last year, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S9. While a critical hit, the model failed to boost sales compared to previous generations.

With the tenth anniversary model, Samsung could release as many as three versions. These are expected to include a smaller Samsung Galaxy S10, a larger-screened Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, and a cheaper Samsung Galaxy S10E.

There are also rumours of a 5G smartphone, which would have ultra fast data capabilities, and a phone with a folding display, tentatively dubbed by fans as the Samsung Galaxy X or the Galaxy F.

Here is everything we know so far about the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10:

Samsung Galaxy S10 release date

Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus features

Samsung is believed to be in the process of developing a host of S10 smartphones that could be revealed at its Unpacked event including the standard S10, S10 Plus and S10E.

Samsung Galaxy S10 specs

Samsung's main phone is expected to be the Samsung Galaxy S10. It is due to feature some "very significant" design changes, according to Samsung's mobile chief executive DJ Koh.

The standard S10 is expected to have a triple-lens camera on the back, a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack connector.

It is expected to come with a powerful Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor, which will be enabled for next generation WiFi 6 technology. It will come with between 128GB and 512GB of storage. Inside, the regular S10 is said to have around 6GB and 8GB of RAM.

The main phone is expected to have a 6.1-inch display with a hole-punch Infinity O screen. This means that the camera essentially is cut out within the main display itself.

There will also be a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, as in previous years. This will be a significantly larger phone, with a screen size of about 6.4-inches.

The S10 Plus will be the most powerful of the group and a challenger to Apple's iPhone XS Max.

It is said to come with 6GB of storage and 128GB of RAM, 8GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and finally 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, according to a leak from gadget website MySmartPrice.

Samsung Galaxy S10E

Launching just two smartphones in one go is very 2017. It is now all about having a triple bill of new devices to boost sales.

Reports suggest Samsung could also release a cut-price version of its S10 smartphone, called the Samsung Galaxy S10E. According to German tech website Winfuture, which revealed the design of the Samsung Galaxy S10E. The phone will be a less high powered version of the new Samsung S10 and will come with a smaller 5.8-inch screen. It will come with a flat display compared to the normal curved screens on the flagship Galaxy range.

A secret folding phone?

Samsung teased a foldable smartphone back in November, which would be a first for the Korean company.

The phone has been tentatively called the Samsung Galaxy X (much like the tenth edition iPhone X), or by some as the Samsung Galaxy F (for fold).

It is not clear if Samsung will launch a folding phone on February 20. Normally by this stage there are more confirmed reports of how the phone will work, for now it still seems to be in the concept stages. A Wall Street Journal report suggested the event may give users another glimpse at the prototype.

A folding smartphone would allow you to use the phone as either a smartphone or a tablet. It would, in theory, be more durable than normal solid screens. The phone works by using an ultra-thin flexible Organic LED display that can be bent out of its original shape. The phones will use thin, flexible plastic displays.

Samsung Galaxy S10 triple camera

The S10 will come with a triple camera design with rear 12MP, 16MP and 13MP cameras. It will also come with a dual front camera.

There are fewer details about the S10E, but we know it will have a dual rear lens camera. It is likely to be less powerful than its more expensive cousin.

A first 5G smartphone?

Rumours have been flying that Samsung could reveal its first 5G phone at its event. While several rivals are rumoured to be launching 5G phones at Mobile World Congress days later, it is not clear whether Samsung will join them.

Reportssuggest Samsung could, at the very least, launch a 5G dongle for its phones that would let them connect to superfast internet speeds. 5G, the latest kind of network technology, in theory will allow phones to speed up downloads by between 10 and 100 times.

S10 storage and power

The S10 Plus is rumoured to come with a massive amount of power and storage. Reports suggest it could have up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Samsung has already begun production of these expandable storage chips for manufacturers.

Samsung Galaxy S10 colours

While Apple has tried to lure in new buyers with a range of colours, Samsung could go even further this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is said to come in canary yellow, prism black, green white and blue. The S10 is said to come in black, prism black, green, white, pearl white and blue. The S10 Plus is said to come in the same colours as well as “ceramic black and ceramic white”.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy S10 cost?

We cannot be sure how much the new Samsung Galaxy will cost in the UK, but according to one report its prices have now been revealed for Europe, giving us a good guideline.

According to MySmartPrice, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will start at €899 (£790) in Europe with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The S10 Plus will start at €999 with 6GB and the S10E will start at €749.

Other variants will include a €1,149 S10 with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage, a €1,249 S10 Plus with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage and a €1,499 S10 Plus with a massive 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The Telegraph will be following all the action from the Samsung live launches in London and San Francisco and bring you the first hands-on takes and reviews.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active

Samsung is said to be launching a new sports watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active. This smartwatch model will come without the signature rotating bezel that has been the feature of most Samsung Galaxy Watch models. It will also feature a redesigned operating interface and new fitness features.

Samsung Galaxy Buds

Samsung could be about to attempt to rival Apple's AirPod headphones with its own wireless model. The Samsung Galaxy Buds have been much-rumoured by Samsung news websites. The Galaxy Buds will come with a wireless charging case and have built-in storage of up to 8GB for music.

Galaxy Fit

The Korean firm is also said to be releasing a fitness tracker to join its new wearable devices. According to Samsung fan account SamCentralTech, Samsung will launch a fitness band called the Galaxy Fit. The leak was revealed in the latest update to Samsung's smartwatch app, which displayed all the new technology.
