Sanditon cliffhanger leaves character's life in the balance

Sanditon viewers have been left to wonder the fate of one character after a shocking twist in the most recent episode.
Following bouts of ill health, Sunday night's episode (September 22) saw Lady Denham (Anne Reid) collapse in the closing minutes, leaving her fate to be revealed next week.
The no-nonsense matriarch has been a fan-favourite since the ITV period drama, which is based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel, began — and a lot of fans are now concerned about her welfare.
Will Lady Denham make it through to next week's episode?

It's a question that Sanditon viewers want answered and fast, as reactions to the episode on Twitter demonstrated.
"No Lady D can't die," said one viewer.
"Good grief, please don't kill off Lady D!!," added another.
"This ending of Sanditon makes me wish they had released the series as a boxset," wrote a fan.

Only time will tell whether Lady Denham survives.
In the meantime, all we can hope is that next week's episode doesn't start with a funeral.
