Starring in the new female-exclusive Ocean's 8, Sandra Bullock is undoubtedly an out-and-out Hollywood A-lister, winning an Academy Award in her time and venturing into space with George Clooney for fun (not literally).

Meanwhile, in light of the industry-shaking scandal concerning Harvey Weinstein's exploits, the actress has spoken about her own experiences relating to the poisonous producer.

Originally chatting to Sunday Times Magazine (via Belfast Telegraph), Bullock explained: "I heard about Harvey and I was afraid of him. I wasn't asked to be in that world. I learnt early on to shut things off so those things didn't come my way.

"I only heard what Harvey wanted people to hear, and that made me so f***ing angry. People would say, 'Well, you know how she got that role? She f***ed Harvey'.

"I would say, 'Shut the f**k up. You don't know that'. Then, later, to find out that woman was brutally attacked … They didn't sleep with Harvey.

"Harvey wanted you to think that."

Digital Spy's review of Bullock's new heist film can be enjoyed here. It could be said that the overall result of director Gary Ross' work is average at best, but here's a taster:

"What the film lacks is a real sense of peril. In portraying its cast as the most competent women in the business, they become too competent, and can do little wrong. The film lacks a dangerous energy that you would imagine is part of a grand heist.

"More disasters and narrow escapes would have allowed the stars to better develop their characters and relationships – instead, the film sometimes falls into a business-like expounding of each step in the (occasionally plot hole-affected) plan."

Ocean's 8 is out in the US now and will be released in the UK on June 18.
