Sandy Valley Fire Burning South of Las Vegas 'Human Caused,' Per Officials

Officials said a fire burning in Nevada’s Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, that started on Thursday, June 10, was “human caused and is under investigation.”

Footage shared by Nye County on Facebook shows smoke billowing from the scene of the fire in southern Nevada on Thursday.

As of Friday, the fire was estimated to be 1,500 acres and was zero percent contained, according to the Bureau of Land Management – Nevada. The fire began Thursday at 1:34 pm about two miles west of US State Route 160 on Sandy Valley Road, officials said. Credit: Nye County, Nevada via Storyful
