Santa to arrive by RNLI lifeboat for Christmas light switch on in Northumberland village
Santa is set to arrive by lifeboat for a Northumberland coastal village's Christmas lights big switch on.
Seahouses is one of the Northumberland Coast's top tourist hotspots in the busy summer season. However, in winter it's much quieter as frigid North Sea winds whip the picturesque village.
Nevertheless, a big turnout is expected for the village's Christmas lights switch on later this month, where Santa will arrive by RNLI Lifeboat. The lights will be switched on by local youngster Brody Edward Lane, who lives in Bamburgh and attends Seahouses Primary School.

In a Seahouses tradition, local children entered their names into a draw at last year's switch on, with Brody the lucky winner. As well as the lights switch on, there will be festive songs around the Christmas tree on Main Street, with tea, coffee and mince pies at Hook Fish 'n' Chip shop.
The village's Christmas lights switch on is funded by the Seahouses Festive Light Group, who also put on a huge firework display in the village at New Year's Eve. Last year, hundreds of visitors and residents alike turned up for the event, packing out the harbour, with cash raised on the night going towards this year's festive events.
Seahouses Christmas Lights switch on is at 6pm on Thursday November 21.
