Santiago Firefighters Respond to Four-Alarm Blaze at Hospital

A fire broke out in a hospital in Santiago, Chile, on Saturday, January 30, prompting its evacuation and the transfer of patients, including newborn babies and COVID-19 patients, to different hospitals.

Chilean firefighters said 37 units and more than a hundred firefighters attended the scene at the San Borja Arriarán hospital.

The Chilean health ministry said the blaze had not affected any part of the hospital housing patients, and said no patients or staff had been injured.
