Ed Sheeran has marked the release of his latest hit 'Galway Girl' with a new tattoo of the song's title.
But unfortunately for him, it's been ruined by Saoirse Ronan after she misspelled the word 'girl' as 'grill'. Uh oh.
The 23-year-old Irish actress appears in the music video for the song – shot in Galway this week – and has been left rather red-faced at her spelling skills.
Ed revealed the gaffe at his gig in Glasgow on Sunday as he embarks on the UK leg of his tour, saying (via The Sun): "When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.
"It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the piss out of me – full on."
He added: "I haven't actually told anyone that yet.
"I'm actually quite proud of her. It's the kind of thing I would do."
It's an addition to the more-than-60 tattoos Ed already has, with lots referring to milestones and events in his career.
He might speak about the stories behind some of them when he appears on BBC Radio 4's iconic Desert Island Discs next month where, as usual, he'll be picking eight songs, a book and a luxury item that he'd want with him if he were stranded on a desert island.
He has already recorded his appearance with host Kirsty Young, describing it as "one of my favourite things I've done".
Meanwhile, Ed's 13-week reign as the UK's number one with 'Shape of You' was finally ended on Friday (April 14) by Harry Styles's long-awaited debut single 'Sign of the Times' which topped Ed's effort by just over 3,000 copies.
In more heartbreaking news, the story of Ed singing a terminally ill teenage girl her favourite song in her dying moments was revisited over the weekend when the girl's brother recalled the moment on Irish television.
