Sarah Ferguson Makes Rare Statement About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'Happiness'

Sarah Ferguson is speaking out about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship—and she's got a pretty good idea of what Princess Diana would say about it.

The Duchess of York recently appeared on the Italian talk show, Porta a Porta, and while discussing the royal couple, Fergie revealed that Harry's late mother would be pleased to see them so happy. She said, "The most important thing—and I know Diana, if she were here, would say that—is they are happy. And she makes him happy."

"I love to see that little boy that cried at the funeral to have happiness now," Ferguson added, referring to Harry's emotional moment at his mother's funeral back in 1997. At the time, he was just 12 years old.

Fergie's recent comments come several months after she opened up about her childhood friend back in July. While discussing Prince Harry and Prince William, she told People that Diana would be "proud" of the royal siblings if she could see them today.

Ferguson said, "She would be very proud of her sons and their wives. And she would be just like me, obsessed with her grandchildren. Because that's what she loved." Currently, Markle and Harry share two children, Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 6 months. Meanwhile Prince William and Kate Middleton share three kids: Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

The duchess added, "If she were sitting with me right now, I know she would say, 'I am so proud of both of my boys and the wonderful wives they have chosen,' because each has got her own voice."

Fans may recall that the duchess and Princess Diana were thick as thieves during their teenage years, and remained so after their separations in 1992. after their separations in 1992. And according to Royally Obsessed podcast co-host Roberta Fiorito, the BFFs had quite a bit in common, from their love of dancing to Phil Collins.
