Sarah Jayne Dunn has said she loved being on Hollyoaks and that being axed over OnlyFans was “a huge shock”.

The actor joined the adults-only platform last year, but the Channel 4 soap then said cast members were not allowed “to be active on certain 18+ websites” and confirmed Dunn was leaving the show.

She has now told OK! she would have stayed on the Channel 4 programme “forever” if her contract hadn’t been terminated.

She said: "It’s not something I did on a whim. It’s something that I’d been planning for months and I’d had discussions, and zoom calls, and emails, and I essentially had approval, so for them to then turn around and call me in for a meeting on the Friday, and then terminate my contract on the Wednesday with immediate effect was a huge shock.”

"After 25 years on and off working there and giving my life and my all - I loved it there over the years, so it was upsetting," she added.

Dunn, who was cast as Hollyoaks’ Mandy Richardson in 1996, has previously explained that OnlyFans gave her the opportunity to take control of her own content.

She said she had done plenty of men’s magazine shoots over the years but didn’t feel like she’d had much of a say in them and that it was “cathartic” to take back control.

She told OK! that things have gone in her favour since she left the soap and that she has had a lot of support.

She added that she has “no regrets”.
