Sarah Parish rushed to hospital after fracturing spine

Sarah Parish has been rushed to hospital in Turkey.

The 53-year-old actress fractured her spine in a "nasty fall" and is recuperating in hospital.

She shared a picture of herself in her hospital bed on Instagram and wrote: "A broken rib?? No, no, that’s not enough for this f*** wit. Let’s pop in to the equation a nasty fall on a very hard surface resulting in a fractured spine. Yes, that’s better. Spending a couple of extra days in Turkey but not at the lovely @hillsidebeachclub. At the local Turkish hospital. FFS. Life really does appear to be taking a massive dump on my head right now."

Sarah's famous friends commented on her post with Catherine Tyldesley writing: "Oh bloody hell love! Get well soon! Xxxx."

Russell T Davies said: "Ouch!! Get well," Lisa Faulkner wrote: "Honey I can’t believe it. Just hope you are ok. Lots of love," and Tracy Ann Oberman said: "Oh Sarah - you poor thing. Get home ASAP. Hope you’re not in too much pain and if you need ANYTHING- let us know x."

Before her accident, Sarah had been enjoying a holiday in Turkey with her husband James Murray and their daughter.

She shared pictures of their activities on her Instagram page and wrote: "@hillsidebeachclub Am I pleased to see you. #Turkey #halftermholidays @emmamackleyprivatetravel

"Here we are @hillsidebeachclub doing what we do best. Posing, wakeboarding, wake surfing and perfecting our underwater Donald Trump impressions. #halftermholidays #turkeywholesale (sic)."

James also shared pictures and wrote: "BIG Thankyou to all the boys and girls at @hillsidebeachclub.

"Especially those kind, patient souls who indulged us on top of and underneath the med - what an incredible stretch of water the turquoise coast is! Will see you again Turkey. Thanks also to @emmamackleyprivatetravel."
