Satellite imagery captured lightning flashing inside Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight as it moved towards the Carolinas on Monday, September 16.

The imagery, released by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere, shows the lightning flashes over a period of time on Monday morning.
