Satellite Imagery Shows Deadly St Louis Storms

A “historic rainfall event” in St Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday, July 26, caused “widespread flash flooding,” according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The NWS said more than nine inches of rain fell in 24 hours, breaking the previous record for highest daily rainfall set in 1915.

The St Louis Fire Department reported at least “one fatality from this fast-rising water.”
