Satellite Imagery Shows Winter Storm System Moving Across New England

A winter storm system moved over parts of New England on Wednesday, December 22, dropping heavy snow on the region.

Video released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows a winter storm system moving over New England and creating rippling wave clouds over the Appalachians from Pennsylvania to West Virginia.

The National Weather Service said the system will help guide the wintry weather northeastward through northern New England on Wednesday and could bring six to more than eight inches of snow across northern Maine. Credit: NOAA Satellites via Storyful
