Satellite Imagery Tracks Storms Moving Through Australia

Japan’s Himawari-8 satellite captured a view of a developing storm system expected to bring severe weather to northern Australia on February 5.

The storm system was expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds as it tracked westward, the report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said. Rain was forecast for the southeast over some areas affected by bushfires.
