Satirical Washington Post Issue Handed Out Outside White House

Activists distributed a satirical print edition of the Washington Post around the US capital on Wednesday, January 16, that included a front page and articles imagining a time when President Donald Trump chooses to leave the White House.

The fake edition was dated May 1, 2019, and had a front page headline reading: “UNPRESIDENTED.” Inside, there was an “action guide” to “bringing down” the president.

The Yes Men, a self-styled satirical activist group, said they produced the fake paper. The group carried other so-called “hijinks” in the past and created a website to mimic the Post’s online edition.

In response to the stunt, the Washington Post’s Public Relations team released a statement clarifying that neither the print nor online editions are their products. Credit: Sara Kenigsberg via Storyful
