The twin wonders of sausages and cider will be brought together and celebrated at a festival next weekend. A Cirencester pub will be hosting the inaugural event on Saturday, October 19 from noon.

Cirencester’s BBQ and smokehouse, Cheeky Swine will play host to a number of ciders from across the country while Cirencester’s Oink Butchery will take care of supplying them with a variety of different flavoured sausages. And it would not be a Cheeky Swine event, if some of the sausages were not smoked.

The Arkell’s Brewery pub, where Cheeky Swine is based, is hosting the one-day sausage-fest, is part of a series of community events the pub has hosted this year. These have included charity nights, a music and food festival and SwineFest.

Neil Johnston is the proprietor and head chef of Cheeky Swine; he said. “There are many German themed events in October, resembling or copying the Oktoberfest, we wanted to do something different and celebrate Britain, the Cotswolds’ and our great produce. I think our farms, producers are some of the best in the country and what is more West Country than cider, another great export of the region.”
