This Sausage Dog Yule Log Is Almost Too Cute To Eat

From Delish

Earlier this year, Asda launched a sausage dog cake, and it was just about the cutest thing we’d ever seen.

Until now, that is…

To rival Asda’s Sid The Sausage Dog, Sainsbury’s has launched its own sausage dog cake, but this time it’s festive.

Sainsbury’s sausage dog yule log is a moist chocolate sponge rolled in chocolate-flavoured buttercream, which is then coated in a milk chocolate shell and decorated with super-cute Christmas sprinkles. And just look at the mini candy canes and his sweet little sausage dog face!

This brilliant dessert is part of Sainsbury’s 2020 Christmas range, and will set you back £8.

If you can’t wait for the festive season to get stuck into a sausage dog cake, here’s more info on Sid.

Sid The Sausage Dog (RRP: £12) is made up of a soft chocolate sponge, rolled with chocolate buttercream, and coated with milk chocolate and edible decorations. I think we can all agree that Sid sounds delicious.

But the best thing about Sid is his lonnnnngggggggg body. He’s a foot and a half long and feeds 24 people!

Becky Price, Asda’s Product Development Manager for Cakes at Asda, said: “We know our customers love a novelty cake that injects plenty of fun into special celebrations at an affordable price! We’ve seen a rising demand from our customers for sausage dog-themed products, so Sid is a great addition to our celebration cake range and is sure to become one popular pooch!”

Sorry Colin – 2020 is all about sausage dog cakes. You’ll have to up your game in 2021.
