Savannah Chrisley says she worries about her dad Todd after he faced 'retaliation' from prison guards over her social media posts
Todd Chrisley's daughter Savannah said her dad has faced "retaliation" from guards in prison.
She told Entertainment Tonight that it's because of the "things that I've posted on Instagram."
Todd and his wife Julie were convicted of defrauding banks out of more than $30 million last year.
Savannah Chrisley, the daughter of disgraced reality TV stars Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, is continuing to speak out about the reported conditions her parents face behind bars.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight published Thursday, the 26-year-old star said she is concerned and alleges that her father is being unfairly targeted due to her speaking out.
Todd and his wife Julie are serving sentences at the two separate minimum-security prisons, Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, and Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, respectively, after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022.
"It's been really tough [for them] since I started speaking out about everything," Savannah told the outlet. "That's been the toughest part. More so for Dad."
"There's been a lot of retaliation, so we have to worry [about him]."
Federal Prison Camp and Federal Medical Center representatives did not respond to Insider's requests for comment made outside of regular working hours.
In an episode of her podcast in July, Savannah and her brother Chase, 27, criticized the conditions.
The siblings said at the time that their parents did not have air conditioning and also claimed the prisons had "black mold, asbestos" and snakes "slithering on the floor" in Julie's case.
Savannah told ET that in the months since she began sharing information about the prisons' poor living conditions, her father was barred from setting up phone calls with his lawyers.
"Right now they're trying to move him from the facility he's at now, because of the latest things that I've posted on Instagram," she told ET. "And that's the tough part -- the moment you start speaking out, you have to pay for it."
She continued: "Which is a huge thing because... it's a non-recorded phone call to where you can speak about the things that are happening to you to your lawyer, [and] they're not letting him do that."
She also alleged that the prison guards are attempting to clean out her father's inmate commissary account, stating: "That's their way of retaliating against these men for speaking out. They're literally going to starve them to death."
Insider was the first to report in September that the "Chrisley Knows Best" stars' release dates moved up by more than a year, with Todd now expected to be released in 2033, two years ahead of schedule. Julie is expected to be released in 2028, a year and three months before she was initially scheduled.
"Without a doubt, Todd and Julie are model incarcerated individuals who received exorbitant sentences," the couple's attorney, Jay Surgent, told Insider in a statement at the time. "I believe Todd is down to 10 years and Julie is now at five years."
For now, the pair are filling their time by writing books and emailing each other to stay in contact.
