Watch: Colin Jost confirms Scarlett Johansson pregnancy
Scarlett Johansson is pregnant with her second child, her husband has confirmed.
The 36-year-old Black Widow star - who has a six-year-old daughter with ex-husband Romain Dauriac - married Saturday Night Live Writer Colin Jost, 39, in October 2020.
According to Page Six Jost told a comedy audience at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut: “We’re having a baby, it’s exciting.”
Comedian Jost will become a father for the first time.
Johansson welcomed daughter Rose in September 2014 with French businessman Dauriac and they married a month later.
They separated in 2016 and Johansson began dating Jost in 2017, who she met after making several appearances on comedy sketch show SNL.
She was previously married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011.
Johansson sparked rumours she may be expecting in June when she did not attend several major promotional events for new Marvel/Disney movie Black Widow, in which she stars.
The Avengers star appeared virtually via video call on several US chat shows, including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, shot from the shoulders up.
The film was originally scheduled to open exclusively in cinemas in May 2020, but was repeatedly delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eventually, the studio made the decision to pursue a hybrid release, opening in cinemas the same day it premiered on the Disney+ streaming as a Premier Access title.
Johansson's lawsuit claims her contract guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release, with her salary based largely on how it performed at the box office.
In a statement to Yahoo Entertainment, Disney said there was "no merit whatsoever to this filing."
"The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic," the company continued. "Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson's contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20 million she has received to date."
In the meantime, The Hollywood Reporter has just revealed Johansson has already signed up to star in Wes Anderson’s latest movie, alongside Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Tilda Swinton.
