Scarlett Moffatt has addressed her exit from ITV's CelebAbility, after Stacey Solomon took over as team captain.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, the star explained that she simply had other commitments which prevented her from returning for the new series of the Iain Stirling-fronted show.

She also commented that she felt like the media attention surrounding her departure from CelebAbility overshadowed Stacey joining the cast.

"When I didn't carry on with my place on CelebAbility, it was because I was doing panto," she said.

"I've felt that the stories about me are taking the focus away from my friend Stacey, and I don't want that. I've spoken to Iain Stirling and I know Stacey's going to be amazing.

"This is about her, not me, so everyone needs to let her shine.

"I'm over the moon for Stacey. She's perfect for the role."

Iain also had high praise for Stacey. Speaking recently to The Version, he said: "She is just brilliant. She is an absolute professional, an absolute charmer and a joy to work with. It's been a real honour actually. TV royalty!"

CelebAbility airs on ITV2.
