Girlfriend's terrified reaction to late-night puppet prank goes viral

James Williams gave his girlfriend the fright of her life with a late-night puppetry prank while she was asleep.

Couples in a long-term relationship often play the odd gentle prank on their partner, but James Williams took his level of mischief to the next level.

James created a ghostly puppet figure and attached it to their television while she was asleep.

When his long-suffering partner woke up, she was greeted by a horror film-style ghoul in front of her eyes, appearing to leap out of the screen.

James then controlled the freakish puppet character from the staircase, waving its arms in torchlit darkness in front of his petrified partner.

A video of his girlfriend's reaction - in which she yelps in utter terror for at least 20 seconds - has since been viewed over 400,000 times online.

Amazingly, despite his partner's horror at waking up to the fearsome creation, James insisted she has since forgiven him for the prank.

James, an aspiring artist, told Yahoo! News: 'I get random thoughts in my head sometimes and thought I'd try this prank out.

'My girlfriend knows I'm a bit of a practical joker, but I was quite shocked at her reaction.

'I thought she would realize what it was after a few seconds - that it was just me messing around.

'When she was screaming for several seconds I started thinking after a while, "How long should I do this for?"

'I love her to bits though and I'm so happy she puts up with me.

'I took her out the next night to make up for it, and she said she was a bit shaken up by it. I honestly didn't expect her to react like that though.'
