A ‘roarsome’ free family trail through Lanark invites you to find fearsome dinosaurs that have been let loose on the town.

The Jurassic Lanark summer trail encourages dino hunters of all ages to hunt down 25 life-size dinosaurs hidden throughout the town centre and New Lanark World Heritage Site.

Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, and Velociraptor are some of the monstrous carnivores lurking throughout the trail.

More friendly herbivores like Brachioisaurus, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus are also waiting to be discovered.

Two new baby puppet dinosaurs and a flying Pteranodon will be sure to delight all those taking part.

The second year of the festival launched on Friday and runs daily through the school holidays until August 14.

Border Biscuits, a Lanark-based company, is sponsoring the event as part of a community initiative.

John Cunningham, chief executive of the company, said: “As a local business we’re committed to supporting the community, and by sponsoring this event, we can shine a spotlight on Lanark again this year.

“Last year’s event was a phenomenal success and we’re hoping this year will be even bigger and better.

“Visitors will be able to spot our volunteers along the trail, who will be handing out free biscuits to keep everyone’s energy up on the hunt.

“We are looking forward to giving one lucky family our Border Biscuits bundle, a sure-to-be sought after prize with selections from our delicious range.”
