The film follows a struggling mother who is abandoned by her family and partner after a horrific incident. As she falls further into isolation, she begins to be haunted by a sinister entity that is determined to make her relive her darkest moments.

“Mom” revolves around a central performance from Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”) and also stars François Arnaud (“Marlowe”) and Christian Convery (“Cocaine Bear”). The film marks the feature debut for director Adam O’Brien, known for his acclaimed horror shorts “Bloodbath,” “Insane” and “Banshee.” O’Brien produced the film alongside Benoit Beaulieu, Albert Melamed and Philip Kalin-Hajdu, who also wrote the screenplay. Hampshire, Arun Aurora, John Saunders, Julien Bigras, Niranjan Maganti and Marc Coté serve as executive producers.

“We are thrilled to premiere at Frightfest Glasgow, an always-exciting top genre-festival that has honored some of our favorite films in the past. We are in great company and cannot wait to share our movie – and these incredible performances – with its discerning audience,” said O’Brien.

Blue Finch’s international slate also includes Sydney-winning and 2024 SXSW-bound “Birdeater,” Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s “Steppenwolf,” which will premiere at Rotterdam later this month, Sitges and Beyond Fest title “Last Straw,” Tribeca selected “You’ll Never Find Me,” and 2023 SXSW narrative competition winner “Raging Grace.”

The EFM is from Feb 15-21. Frightfest Glasgow takes place March 7-9.
