Reacting to the news, one Russian Doll fanatic wrote: "I am CRAZY excited about this. Please give us many scenes with Natasha [Lyonne] & Annie."

"ANNIE MURPHY WHAT A CONCEPT omg," commented someone else.

Meanwhile, Lenora Vulvokov actress Chloë Sevigny previously teased what's to come in the next load of Russian Doll episodes.

"Well, the character comes back more. It still has... 'abstract' is not the word. There are some situations where… There is more time-travelling, maybe."

Waxing lyrical about her close pal and colleague Lyonne, she also said: "I'm just so proud of her. Just seeing her create this show, this character, and seeing her grow as an actor.

"I think the moments in Russian Doll where you see her vulnerable side is not something that people really associate her with.

"People always see her as this brash New Yorker who's smoking and [makes ar-ar-ar-ar noise]. And the moments where she's vulnerable on the show – I was in tears every time I was watching it. I think she doesn't get enough credit for her performance in those moments," she added.

Russian Doll season 1 is available to watch on Netflix.
