School evacuated after 'anonymous threat' received
A school has evacuated today (Thursday, October 17) after an anonymous threat was received. Cheshire Police responded to calls from Great Sankey High School, in Warrington, today in relation to an anonymous threat that had been received.
Following the reports, a decision was taken by the school to evacuate as a precautionary measure. A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said there was no need for any concern in the wider community or at nearby schools in relation to this, although enquiries remained ongoing this afternoon (October 17).
They said: "On Thursday, October 17, Cheshire Police attended at Great Sankey High School, Warrington in relation to an anonymous threat that had been received.
