Mr Jones said in his letter to parents and carers: “I am writing to inform you that your child’s form tutor has had the sad task of informing the class of the sudden death of a pupil in year nine – Zac Trevett.

“When someone dies, it is normal for their friends and family to experience a range of different feelings like sadness, anger and confusion. The pupils have been advised that staff are available to support them should the need arise and I will also place guidance information relating to grief and bereavement on the school website.

“Our thoughts and prayers are very much with Zac’s family at this sad time.”
