Schoolgirl’s Hilarious Flashback Photo Sends Twitter Into Meltdown

A high school student’s decision to recreate her kindergarten photo for the start of her senior year in high school has gone viral.

Michigan teenager Tyra Hunt liked her earlier look so much that she used it all over again, from the cute pigtails right through to the awkward grimace.

Since she shared the resulting image on Twitter on Tuesday, it’s been liked more than 100,000 times, and received over 34,000 retweets.

Tyra, 17, has revealed that the original picture had become the stuff of family legend, remaining displayed in the living room for 12 years.

She told Fox 17: “When I was in kindergarten I refused to take my school picture and it got so serious that the principal had to call my mom. It’s just a little joke between me and my family.”

So when the time to pose for a new photo was imminent, Tyra hatched a plan.

She said: “My freshman year I looked at some of my friends’ IDs and I’m like ‘Wow, I didn’t know we could joke around and have a funny ID picture’. And I was like 'What could I do that’s funny?’”

A comedy throwback sounded about right - but the East Kentwood High School, student didn’t expect her idea to go global. “It’s pretty crazy,” she admits. “I really didn’t expect it to blow up that way that it did.”
